Frequently Asked Questions

Simply put, there are many misconceptions about weight loss! As you might expect, when someone learns about the excellent results we're producing in our Middletown, Ohio practice, they can be a bit skeptical.

Here are the most common questions we get and the simple, direct, no-nonsense answers.

1. How is this different from Jenny Craig or Nutri-System?

The most important thing we work towards is getting your glandular system healthy enough to lose weight with a three-pronged approach to produce weight loss naturally, without drugs or surgery:

Chemical - concentrated whole food supplements to support your body’s ability to heal your  stressed-out glands.

Structural- addresses persistent body pain that blocks fat burning, so whatever pain problems there are must be addressed first in order to burn fat.

Emotional - addictions to pop, chocolate, sugar/carbohydrates, etc. and how to break the addictions with use of Neuro Emotional Technique.

2. Are there special foods I will have to eat?

Yes, you will need to make a change in your eating habits specific to your body type. You will learn how to eat the proper foods to get your body healthier and learn the effects of food on your body shape.

3. Will I have to cook different meals for my family and me?

That choice will have to be yours, but getting your family to eat healthier would be a great thing. Learning a healthier way to eat will make all of you healthier!

4. Do you have to exercise with this program?

Exercise is required to burn fat. However, the key is how to exercise. To be healthier and stay healthy exercise is vital to maintain lasting weight loss. Some patients require more exercise than others. Some people need to exercise more frequently, but for a shorter period. Recommendations will be made for each individual. It is important to know your body type so you exercise in the correct manner. Why would you want to overwork your body and at the same time keep it from burning fat?

5. Are there drugs or surgery involved?

No, this is a non-surgical, drugless approach to get your glandular system healthy  enough to reshape your body, lose weight and keep it off. There are however, specific all natural, concentrated food supplements geared toward your bodies specific needs that are recommended to help you get healthy in order to lose weight. Depending on what your body needs we will suggest these naturally concentrated whole food supplements to rebuild and repair your body. Your prescription medication is always taken into consideration when suggesting a weight loss program or supplements.

6. Does insurance cover the program and how much does it cost?

Typically, insurance companies do not cover weight loss programs. They do, however sometimes cover the cost of chiropractic adjustments. The cost will vary with each individual. It depends on what issues we are up against, how much weight you want to lose, if there are pain issues to deal with, sleep problems, what prescriptions you take, etc. The cost can be discussed on an individual basis to give you a more accurate answer.

7. Am I too old to do this program?

You are never too old to increase your quality of life. We have had Middletown patients as old as 83 have great success with our approach.

8. I already see a chiropractor, how is this different?

First of all, I congratulate you for understanding that Chiropractic is a wonderful source  for healing the body naturally. I am a Wellness Chiropractor, by that I mean I look at the whole person. I look at the patient structurally as well as emotionally and nutritionally. By using these different approaches, I am able to see more of what the patient is dealing with, producing better results.

9. Is this a diet?

This is not a diet. This is a way of learning how to eat healthier. A diet is something you start and stop, which usually leads to falling back into your old habits of eating in a non-healthy way, and gaining back the weight you lost. We look at getting your hormones healthy so you begin to feel better, you like the way your body is reshaping and how you look. Losing the pounds is just an added bonus!

Rick Asks some important questions of interest to Middletown residents - Chiropractor Middletown Rick Asks...

What controls every cell, tissue and organ of your body?
DNA? Wrong. Immune system? Wrong? Hormones? Wrong. It's your nervous system, consisting of your brain, spinal cord and all the nerves of your body. When a chiropractor sees a Middletown patient with say, stomach problems, we want to know why the brain is unable to properly control and regulate the stomach. Which prompts us to examine the nervous system—the focus of chiropractic care.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
